We produce bespoke orders for leatherworkers, crafters, shooting Estates, distilleries, museums, drum makers and small holders. We produce various types of leather and hides, specialising in high quality rawhide for drum making, buckskin, sheepskin rugs, bark tan leather and deer hide rugs. Water use and wastewater generated at the artisanal tannery is less than the 3540L of water/kg raw hide and 3040L of wastewater/kg raw hide widely reported in literature for industrial leather manufacturing industries (Thanikaivelan et al., 2005). Every hide is tanned naturally and responsibly, without the use of heavy metals or harsh. The Tannery is a small, women-owned and operated company that strives to treat animals, the environment, and their customers with respect. Our leather is produced from hides and skins, utilising fish skins from Scotland’s finest smoke salmon suppliers, sheepskins from small crofts and deer hides from Estates, Farms and Scotlands wild landscape. Driftless Tannery is located in Southwestern Wisconsin’s beautiful driftless region. Our Tannery, unlike many others uses only natural materials and traditional methods. Reason I ask is been using pro 1 for couple years with good success (super white,great stretch and no slip whatsoever) but don’t know longevity of product.
